Every year, South Salt Lake Arts Council puts on a festival, Craftoberfest, to celebrate local artists and craft brewers. I was chosen, along with a handful of other artists, to partner with a local distillery or brewery to paint a barrel.

Brief

Pairing with Sugar House Distillery, whose brand is very ornate and typographic centered, I painted their name in vintage style type on the front and an iconographic pattern on the back to illustrate their “grain to glass” process.

Results

Craftoberfest saw a 15% increase in attendance and participation from the previous year and this barrel is now on display at Sugar House Distillery.
